• Usage data: game scores, badges, XP, session timestamps.
• Technical data: browser type, device type, IP address (anonymised in analytics).

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your information to provide the educational platform, track learning progress, award badges, communicate course updates and improve our services.

4. Children's Privacy

CyberBytes is designed for young learners aged 11–14. We are committed to complying with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). We minimise data collection, do not share children's data with third parties for marketing, and provide guardians with the right to review and delete their child's information upon request.

5. Data Retention

Accounts that have been inactive for six months may be anonymised or deleted in accordance with our data-minimisation commitment.

6. Data Security

Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing (bcrypt). All connections use HTTPS/TLS. We follow the principle of least privilege for data access.

7. Your Rights

You (or your guardian) may request access to, correction of or deletion of personal data at any time by emailing [email protected].

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the platform.
